The Watertown Area Swim Club is a year-round competitive swim team that trains in the Prairie Lakes Wellness Center pool. The goal of our team is to provide every athlete with an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success to the full level of their ability, from novice to collegiate athlete.
Our coaches are certified members of USA Swimming. They focus on individual development and responsibility in an effort to instill life skills and personal development that will benefit our athletes far beyond the pool.
Swimmers are invited to join the swim team once they can swim independently across the pool on their front and on their back. Red Cross lessons are recommended through the Prairie Lakes Wellness Center to get your swimmer ready to join the swim team.
WASC hosts 5 swim meets each year, or more if any championships are held in Watertown. Dates can change from year to year, but generally meets are held during one weekend in January, February, June, October, and December. During these meets, the entire pool area is closed to members, but the exact dates and pool closings are announced well in advance via newspaper notices, radio ads, postings in the building, on our website, and in our newsletter.
